Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) pay a surprise visit to the Northwich Rugby clubhouse. The Protection team works proactively to promote fire safety within Cheshire, to support the safety of members of our community.
Northwich are well aware the effects of a fire can be devastating in terms of damage to property. After presenting NRUFC some CFRS merchandise and awareness brochures the attending officer reiterated “Setting fires deliberately is an offence, and deliberate fires take up a large amount of firefighters’ time. It’s important to report irresponsible behaviour so that fires can be prevented in your community. If you see any suspicious activity in your area please contact Cheshire Police on their non emergency number 101 - dial 999 in an emergency”.
NRUFC Chairman Andy Naylor took the opportunity to officially thank CFRS for the speedy response which undoubtedly saved the Clubhouse from total devastation.
Northwich Rugby Club are asking their membership to help us in developing a partnership with CFRS in supporting our local fire service and raising funds for “The Fire Fighters Charity” which is the UK's leading provider of services that enhance quality of life for serving and retired firefighters, fire personnel and their families.
Over the last 12 months, they have raised over £900,000 from clothes recycling. Northwich Rugby’s first initiative is to ask our membership to deposit their unwanted clothing into the dedicated yellow container at Northwich Fire Station, Braddon Close, Northwich, CW9 8HQ
What you can donate: Adult & Childrens clothing, socks, underwear, paired shoes, coats & linen. Please NO bric-a-brac, plastic, toys or electrical items.
Further initiatives will be broadcast throughout the season – together we can help make a difference in supporting our community
