Organisation was improving as the social committee remembered to apply to officially join the carnival parade.

Past shenanigans were forgiven, it was decided not to enter using any DIY props so a clown theme was settled on.

What could go wrong!

As tradition dictates entrants were to assemble at the Lion & Railway, adequately fuelled, off they set in jovial fashion parading along Witton Street towards Verdin Park and the beer tent.

It was here that Frank Holland realised his car was at the opposite end of town on the pub carpark and he was slightly inebriated.

Seeing an opportunity to drive a top of the range soft-top SL Merc "Coco" the clown volunteered.

It didn't work out well for Coco, as he forgot he had to drive past the police station.

The bobby waiting to cross the road had no choice but to pull him over....Coco in one of the most expensive cars to be seen in Northwich kangarooing down Chester Road...it looked a bit iffy and the copper pursued his hunch...It seemed Coco was more pissed than Frank.....

Sam Naylor was in the police force at the time apparently as he walked past the police station he could hear Coco shouting his name...Sam get me out of here.

He didn't of course.
