In the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division, Wollaton ended a run of six straight defeats in fine style as they won 7-1 at Underwood Villa. Jake Fisher struck five in the win to take his tally to 41 goals for the season.
A solitary second half Jason Hodson strike was sufficient to see Calverton Miners Welfare past Gedling Southbank, who had Aidan Johnsey sent off, 1-0, while Bassey Okon grabbed both for Cotgrave as they beat bottom club Kimberley Miners Welfare 2-0.
Ruddington Village and Southwell City played out an entertaining 3-3 draw. Ruddington went into a 2-0 lead within 20 minutes but were then reduced to ten men. Calum Law pulled one back for Southwell in the first half and William Stocks restored parity soon after the break. After the hosts went in front once again Daniel Gleeson equalised to make it a point each although Southwell narrowly missed taking all three with the last kick of the game.
Sandiacre Town won 3-0 at Bilborough Town with the goals shared between Steven Bonel, Charlie Goodwin and Perry McGrath, and Bingham Town and Magdala Amateurs drew 1-1.
Attenborough finally managed to play their Nottinghamshire FA Intermediate Cup semi-final at Sherwood Colliery Reserves. Despite their hosts being reduced to ten men Danny Beardsley and Nick Knight goals weren’t enough to see Boro through as they went down 4-2.
In the NSL Senior Cup Basford United Community won 4-1 at Real Community in their quarter-final.
In Division One, leaders Netherfield Albion were 4-2 winners at Ravenshead and, with Keyworth United Reserves in cup action, Ashland Rovers closed the gap to the top two with a 5-1 win against Mansfield Hosiery Mills.
Stapleford Town edged past Kirton Brickworks 3-2 and Beeston Rylands moved off the bottom of the table with 4-1 defeat of Selston Reserves including a brace for Henry Sainsbury.
In the NSL Junior Cup Division Two’s Burton Joyce sprung a surprise as they were convincing 4-1 winners against Keyworth United Reserves of Division One. Division Two’s to two also made it into the semi-finals as Bridgford United knocked out Keyworth United Development 6-2, including a hat-trick for Nathan Francis, and Woodthorpe Park Rangers beat Gedling Southbank Reserves 8-3 with Adam Forry on target three times.
Welbeck Lions Reserves complete the semi-final line up after they saw off Newark Flowserve Reserves 4-1.
In Division Two there were hat-tricks for both Jaquae Darrell and Dean McClean as Sneinton Town beat Kirton Brickworks Reserves 8-1.
Southwell City Development won 3-0 at Magdala Amateurs Reserves and AFC Clifton edged past Nottingham City 3-2.
