In the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division, leaders Newark Flowserve were pushed all the way by Cotgrave but ultimately a solitary Sam Agar strike midway through the first half preserved their 100% record.
It took 80 minutes for Awsworth Villa to break the deadlock at home against a dogged Ruddington Village. John and Ryan Whitehurst secured a 2-0 win in the end. Zibusiso Sibanda and Mustapha John helped FC Cavaliers win by a similar scoreline at home to Underwood Villa.
Bingham Town are up to fifth following a 2-0 win at Calverton Miners Welfare with goals from Tom Spencer and Mike Jepps. Wollaton came from behind to defeat Bilborough Town 3-1. Joel Isaacs put Bilborough ahead on his second appearance for the side but Wollo struck back through Jake Fisher, Kasey Fisher and Reece Campbell.
Gedling Southbank took the lead through top scorer Tom Jeffries away at Basford United Community but the hosts took control as a Gideon Boateng brace and goals from Michael Uzoka and Ezra Kitungano saw them to a 4-1 win.
There was a similar turn of events at Attenborough where Brett Soiza put AFC Dunkirk ahead only for Jason Jude, Mark Green, Adam Martin and an own goal to seal the points for Boro.
A Charlie Goodwin double and one from substitute Frazer Davis saw Sandiacre Town past Kimberley Miners Welfare AFC 3-0.
In Division One, leaders Netherfield Albion suffered only their second league defeat of the season as they went down 2-0 at home to Kirton Brickworks. Lee Wareham and Jamie Tryner netted for the Brickies.
Second-placed Keyworth United Reserves performed a remarkable comeback at Wollaton Reserves. The hosts went 4-0 up with all four coming from Dominic Brown but, despite being reduced to ten men, Keyworth struck back through Scott Litchfield (2), Joseph Hegarty and Daniel Hough, the last coming with only three minutes remaining, to take a share of the spoils.
Ashland Rovers are now only a point behind Keyworth in third after they won 3-0 at Southwell City Reserves thanks to Ryan Martin, Adam Mellors and, with his first goal for the club, Andy Bancroft.
With at least five games in hand on the four teams above them Stapleford Town will be feeling confident following a 5-0 win over AFC Bridgford. Mitchell Robinson (2), Junior Rodriguez, Kyle Waddell and Michael Robb were the scorers.
Tyler Lambert grabbed a brace for Ravenshead in their 3-1 win over Real Community and Jordan Black netted twice for Selston Reserves as they overcame Awsworth Villa Reserves 3-2. Ruddington Village Reserves won 2-1 at home to Beeston Rylands.
Woodthorpe Park Rangers are back on top of Division Two after they won 6-0 at Keyworth United Development while former leaders Bridgford United could only draw 1-1 at Bingham Town Reserves, salvaging a point with a late penalty.
Newark Flowserve Reserves stay fourth following a 4-0 win at Magdala Amateurs Reserves. Barrowby, in fifth, obliterated 8 man Nottingham City 15-0 including four goals for Robert Lee and hat-tricks for both Jacob Walledge and Luke Abel.
