Thanks to those members of the club who came back to Notts early ahead of the start of term, allowing us to put in some preparation during training sessions. We have been particularly lucky with the input of Dom Luxton as President providing another coaching option; taking a number of the informal fitness and conditioning sessions so far.

Of course, the start of a new season corresponds with the intake of a number of new players. Having highlighted the need for strong recruitment in the AGM towards the end of last season, it has been rewarding to see the efforts in the Freshers’ Fair resulting in a particularly strong intake of new faces. It is hoped that bringing in excess of 20 new players into the club will help us build strength in depth.

Special thanks must go to Lusum rugby, for their help in providing us with some new balls for the season. Having some new, grippy balls has significantly lifted the standard in training and the general consensus is that they are a fantastic addition to our training facilities.
