Connor Gudger has joined the Boro from Leamington

Boro have made it two signings in two days by securing Connor Gudger for next season.

Gudger becomes Jimmy's sixth signing of the summer after leaving Leamington, as the building of his squad for next season continues

The defender made 194 appearances for Leamington in his five years at the club, after joining the Brakes from Worcester City in 2015.

He began his career in the Coventry City academy before appearing for Hinckley United, Tamworth, Cambridge City and Barwell.

Speaking to the Boro media team, Gudger said: "It is great to sign for my local club under Jimmy.

"I'm looking forward to the new challenge and I feel the club is going in a great direction. The squad that is coming together is looking good and I can't wait to get started and meet all the lads."

After adding to his defence, Jimmy spoke about his delight of bringing Gudger to Liberty Way and welcomed the addition of the local lad.

"He lives 10 minutes up the road and when I knew he was interested in joining us, it was a no brainer for me. Connor has massive pride in keeping clean sheets and that was something we struggled with last season.

"Hopefully, him linking up with 3/4 former-Leamington players who are already at the club will complement each other. He scored a hat-trick for me before and I hope he will chip in with a couple of goals for us.

"He's a great lad around the dressing room and will certainly mix with you supporters in the bar (he don't buy many mind). Let's do this!"
