Nuneaton Borough have confirmed the signing of Solihull Moors forward Romario Martin

The Saint Kitts and Nevis international joins at the end of his contract with the Moors and is no stranger to Manager Jimmy Ginnelly “I had young Romario over at Barwell when he was just 17, he’s a real live wire and if he concentrates on his football then we could have unearthed a real gem.

“Last season he was over At Solihull moors, he only made a couple of appearances but to be making appearances in the conference at his age is a credit to him. I’m looking forward to working with him again, the fans will take to him he’s got a massive, infectious, smile and really enjoys mingling with the supporters. He loves a goal and hopefully he’ll bag plenty for the Boro’.”

‘I’m pleased to have signed for Nuneaton Borough” said the 19 year old Martin, “it’s a great platform for me to build upon. I want to get forward, contribute some goals and do well this season.

“It’s a great club, great atmosphere and it’s also great to be working back under Jimmy, I know what he expects from my spell at Barwell so I can’t wait for the season to start, I’m really looking forward to it.”

Born and raised in Birmingham, Martin started his career in the youth team at Walsall. After a spell with local side Continental Star, Martin joined the Academy at Solihull Moors, making two appearances in the National League.

As well as his loan spell at Barwell, Martin also enjoyed stints with Highgate United and Romulus as well as a fortnight training with Grimsby Town. Romario has represented his country at Under 20 level three times, as well as making one appearance for the full side, scoring on his debut.
