We are delighted to announce that striker, Tyrell Waite, has agreed to re-sign for the Boro.
Waite started his career at Ilkeston Town before joining Notts County after impressing during a trial. He made his debut during a 2-0 win over Hartlepool in 2012. The winger scored his first County goal on the final day of the season vs Coventry City. He then had 2 spells out on loan at Nuneaton Town and 2 loan spells at his boyhood club Ilkeston.
In 2014 Waite joined Lincoln City on loan before joining them permanently at the end of the 2014-15 season.
March 2015 saw him sign a 2 year deal with Swedish club Skelleftå FF. This was then followed by spells at Nuneaton, Kidderminster Harries and Boston United.
After joining Boston, he had loan spells at Matlock Town and Stafford Rangers.
He then joined Tamworth in 2018, he went on to make over 100 appearances during his 3 and a half seasons at The Lamb scoring 32 goals .
Over the course of the 2021/22 campaign he scored 8 times in the Southern League Central Division while picking up minutes for Tamworth and Coalville Town during the season.
Despite having an injury-troubled 2022/23 season, his 102nd minute extra-time winner against Leiston Town in the playoff semi-final was a memorable moment for Ty and Boro fans.
Nuneaton Borough Manager, Jimmy Ginnelly, was glad that Waite has agreed to help the push for promotion, saying:
"Tyrell Waite has agreed to stay with us at the Boro for this up-and-coming season. He's got unfinished business, after he started last season on fire and then very unluckily got that dreaded ankle injury. It seemed to hamper him for quite a while, and his season just seemed to fade away, until he popped up with that bullet header that sent the travelling Boro fans wild in the away semi final at Leiston Town FC.
Tyrell is good for the team in 3-4 positions so he fits into our team recruitment of being able to do that!
Welcome back Ty and let’s start filling that net up again with some Waite behind them goals!"
Hoping to have an injury-free season, Tyrell Waite said:
"I'm happy to be extending my stay at Nuneaton. We fell short last season, but hopefully this time around we can go the one better and achieve the goal we all want as a club.“
Welcome back, Ty!
