This season NOERFC have been trialling a free ‘on-line’ match day programme, accessible through a QR code.
At the end of last season, the suggestion was made to go on-line with the match day programmes. The two main drivers for the proposal being accessibility and flexibility.
Not everyone can make it down to the club for every game, so going on-line means that club members can still access the team lists and latest club news – even when they can’t physically be at the match. In addition, we are able to provide the QR code to the visiting team ahead of time, so that if they have supporters who are unable to travel, they can still enjoy the programme and feel included in the match day experience.
Flexibility is the other big benefit. Being on-line, means that there is greater opportunity to accommodate late changes or updates – without the limitations of printing and distribution deadlines.
So far, we have had really positive feedback, both on the concept and the content. This has come from club members and players alike – plus from away teams and their supporters. Adding in the extra benefits of reduced production costs and reduced paper usage / waste – it makes us think the on-line programme is here to stay!
The free on-line programme for home games, usually ‘Goes Live’ the evening before the match. Up to that point, the previous programme remains viewable.
