Lavery joined Nuneaton towards the end of last season and played an active part in the side making the play-offs, including the Telford game.

Nuneaton Chairman Ian Neale told the club website “Richard wanted to play games at this stage of his career, he has no issues with the club, and it is simply football that he has moved on.”

“I must add that Richard has been a total professional whilst at the club, he is a great character to have around. I understand a player who at Richard’s age want time on the pitch and it is an important thing for him and I support him in this and wish him the very best of luck.”
