Offa made their way to World Heritage Site "The Bont" to play Acrefair on a very humid Wednesday night.
With Phil Stott still missing with a broken toenail, James "Easty" Eastwood stepped in to partner Chris Hewitt at the heart of the defence. Also, James Francis and Owen McGrath made their first starts for the club as two of a front three.
Offa settled into their stride early, dominating possession; Particularly down our right side. The link up play down the right between Ramone Nelson, Gibney & debutant Francis was threatening. The breakthrough came 20 minutes in when Lee Bent played in Francis who calmly squared the ball for Corwen born midfielder Alun Parry to slot home. 1-0 at half time.
Changes were made after the break, but with Sam Price shielding the back four Adam's goal was rarely threatened. Offa's second came soon after the whistle as Ramone rifled home the ball into the roof of the net from 18 yards. Robbie Darlington was causing problems with his delivery of set pieces, but our squaddies were unable to apply a finish. However, that did not matter as shortly after Sam Price played a lovely one two before taking a shot first time and blasting home from 20 yards. There was still time for 'The Bald Assassin' James Gibney to slot home a fourth.
There were late chances for Ramone, Benty and Owen, but the score stayed at four. Clean sheet, four different scorers and new signings making their debuts. Excellent performances from Alun and Sam in the middle of the park, but Man of The Match was Ramone Nelson, who was a pest throughout.
