Under the joint management team of Chris Robert and Jason Whalley, Athletic take their on their first opponents in the WNL since their promotion from the North East Wales League.
After three years in North Wales' bottom tier, Offa were granted promotion after finishing 3rd behind Plas Madoc and Penyffordd Lions. Offa had the best defensive record in the league, conceding just 31 goals in 26 games, and will be looking to replicate that form for the season ahead.
Friday's opponents Johnstown have been a common feature in the WNL Division One in recent seasons, but have struggled to trouble the top half of the table of late. A managerial shake up towards the end of last season will hopefully be the catalyst for change as they hope to improve on recent years league position.
Offa have several new faces in the squad for the new season, and the ranks have also been bolstered with the likes of Matt Bennett and Adam Griffiths returning from stints at Mold Alex and Rhos Aelwyd respectively. Andrew Bithell also returns after spending the second half of last season with Cefn Albion.
The game kicks off at 6:30pm.
