Cents travelled to Witney yesterday expecting a close match between two sides that normally see a tight contest when they play each other at the home sides ground. Cents have played Witney many times over the years and this latest match was in the first round of the Papa John's cup. However this weekend Cents gave a big Witney side the run around when they run in 9 tries to win 57-5.Cents led 28-0 at half time playing with the wind and scored a further 29 points playing against the wind in the second half.Witney had no answer to Cents running game and Cents try scorers were Jevon Brown(5), Dan Tyler, Mike Mathers, Luke Jones and Geraint Evans with Harry Preece converting 6 of the tries to complete the away sides points scoring.Although this was a good all round team performance Jevon Brown was Cents man of match for running in 5 tries. Cents will play Drybrook at home next weekend in the second round of Papa John's cup and this will be the third time the clubs have met this season.Cents have won the previous two fixtures in closely fought league matches and this one should be no different. However before then Cents will be playing Hucclecote away on Tuesday night in the semi final of the Freemans NGC Senior cup, kick off time 6pm.
