A late penalty from Cents gave them a win in their final league match of the season and the try scoring bonus point win ensured them the second place in the league.
This was a very good match to watch as Keynsham came to play and their young side took the match to Old Cents right from the start.Keynsham raced into a 5-16 lead midway through first half and they were well worth their lead at this stage. However Cents had battled back to a 17-19 score at half time.
Cents then raced in to a 31-19 lead themselves and looked set to finish the match with a big score, however Keynsham had other plans and battled back to level the scores at 31-31 going into the final five minutes. Then up stepped capt. Harry Prece to nail a penalty from near the half way line to seal the match for the home side.
At the end of the match Cents were glad to have rescued the win that had seen them beaten only once since the half way stage of the season and that was to the Champions Wootton Bassett the best team in the league.Keysham played their part in a good match that saw plenty of end to end rugby and played in the right spirit through out the match and they deserved their 2 poins from the match.
Cents try scorers were Liam Hiles, Sol Farrer, Dan Tyler, Lewis May and Harry Preece with Harry Preece conveting 3 tries and 1 penaty to complete Cents scoring.
Cents next match is in the Papa Johns cup and they are playng old friends Witney away but before that they are playing Coney Hill in the NGC senior cup on tuesday night away with a 6pm kick off.
