Warm Up
Bulldog Tag:
Tag belts on, 2 or 3 defenders.
When tagged 1st time the defenders carry on.
When they lose their 2nd tag they stand still and become an obstacle. Change defenders. Time each go and praise team who takes most tags and the last man to be tagged.
Pick and Place (Follow my leader):
Within a large grid, place 6 or 7 balls in a random manner but in a general circle.
Teams of 4 or 5 line up behind each other.
1st man goes out to 1st ball, picks up properly as taught last week, changes direction for a few steps and then places down and runs to the next ball, Player behind picks up ball and carries in a different direction and then goes after the man in fronts ball.
Looking for proper pick up and placing and change of direction.
Teach sidestep using cones as markers - Look for 2 hand carry, weight transfer and pace away.
Passing drills moving forward across a grid in 3s using cones to keep them straight.
Change middle man.
Look for high hands, not bringing the ball into the body, depth calling etc etc
Use a grid of 4 corners with 2 or 3 on each corner. Run out to the middle and pass left and then change to right. Don't follow ball but run straight across grid. One at a time to start and then 2 at a time and look for the sidestep and vision.
Passing 2 on 1 to score a try.
Who can score the most.
Look for usual stuff as well as trying to work the defender to use the space.
Relays
Tag Match slowed down between tags so that they can get it.
