With the contact rugby season coming towards an end, and the Spring evenings getting longer Old Leamingtonians RFC is getting ready for a Summer of Touch Rugby. Touch is a great way for boys and girls of all ages and abilities to have fun and stay fit, while developing run, catch and pass skills.

The newly formed ‘Mavericks’ Junior Touch Rugby Section will welcome players aged 7-15 to play Touch every Thursday evening- starting on the 4th April. The Touch Rugby section will be led by experienced Touch coach and OLRFC U6 coach Paul Farrington. Touch Rugby will be free to members and players and sessions will be one hour long
With over 20 years playing and coaching experience, which has ranged from representing England and winning 2 European Championships to coaching England at the 2011 Touch World Cup in Scotland, Paul brings a wealth of Touch knowledge to the Club. Paul is also the coach of the Regional U14 Wildcats Boys team, which will compete at this Summer’s Junior Nationals.

Summer Touch sessions will be divided into age groups, with a focus on games and skills. Parents and adults and players over 16 are welcome to come along to adult Touch Rugby on the same evenings- from 6:45pm til dusk!. OLRFC’s clubhouse will be open for drinks and post-match analysis!

Summer of Touch Events!
The pitches of OLRFC are set to come alive this Summer as the club hosts a number of Touch Rugby events. Touch is growing quickly around the country and OLRFC’s great location and facilities are set to host some of the nations best Touch players.

NTS Mens and Women’s Finals 2024
The final round of England Touch’s Elite Men’s and Women’s competition will see over 40 Touch teams battle it out to be crowned National Champions. OLRFC will host this prestigious event on the 18th and 19th May, with over 400 of the country’s best male and female players taking to the field for a weekend of intense competition.

National Junior Touch Cup 2024
OLRFC Junior Touch Coach Paul Farrington is launching the first competition for Junior Touch Clubs in the country. The event, to be held at OLs on the 1st June, will bring together boys and girls from Junior Teams across the country for a fun but competitive event. OLs will be looking to enter teams into the event, across a range of age groups.

Summer Touch Fest 2024
And for the adults, OLRFC will host Summer Touch Fest 2024- a one day Mixed Touch Rugby event with music, DJ, camping and food- will be held on the 29th June. The event will be ‘Seriously Social’ with teams being encouraged to play in fancy dress and stay for evening sundowners.
