The 1st team currently sit mid table in Yorkshire 3 a vastly improved start compared to last season. The 2nd team continue to produce excellent results in the merit table. The 3rd team have just got under way showing great promise including a victory over Old Leo’s (always one to savour).

However as I am sure you are all aware the recent 1st XV defeat at Wath upon Dearne can not be ignored. It was a distressing day for all those (and many of those not) present at Wath.

Your committee has discussed the defeat at length and have concluded that there was no one reason for the defeat. A set of circumstances came together and we as a club both players and non players alike must learn from them. We shall draw a line in the sand and move forward. There will be number of initiatives implemented in the near future and we hope for buy in from everybody.

Finally let’s all get together and support the Old Modernians and ensure that last Saturday is not repeated.
