"In a remarkable show of community spirit and athleticism, VETS Day, held this May, brought together rugby enthusiasts and over 400 supporters to raise funds for the Injured Players Foundation.
Players, supporters and team members joined us at Twickenham from:

- Old Streetonians RFC

- Evesham RFC

- Silhillians RUFC

- Guy’s Hospital RFC

- Teddington RFC

- Wasps RFC

This annual event saw an outpouring of generosity, with participants and supporters alike contributing to a noble cause dedicated to aiding players who have suffered serious injuries.

The highlight of the day was the spirited competition among various teams, all vying not just for victory on the field but also for the title of top fundraiser. Old Streetonians RFC emerged as the standout team, demonstrating exceptional commitment both in their gameplay and their fundraising efforts. Their dedication was instrumental in helping the event surpass expectations.

Lee Jones, IPF trustee & injured player from Silhillians said “This year’s Vets Day was a fantastic affair, bringing together a bunch of players who were all committed to raising a tremendous amount of money to help their injured colleagues! The tournament was hotly contested with some seasoned flair on display, great banter and a wonderful family atmosphere epitomising all that is truly special about the game we love. We can’t wait to come back next season to defend our title!”

Thanks to the collective efforts of all involved, VETS Day successfully raised over £100,000 for the Injured Players Foundation. These funds will play a crucial role in providing medical assistance, rehabilitation, and ongoing support to injured players, ensuring they receive the care and resources they need to recover and rebuild their lives.

The success of VETS Day is a testament to the power of community and the unwavering support within the rugby world. The Injured Players Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, donors, and especially to the Old Streetonians RFC for their exemplary efforts. Together, we continue to make a significant impact on the lives of injured players, offering them hope and support in their time of need.

Stay tuned for next year’s VETS Day, where we hope to achieve even greater heights in our fundraising efforts and community engagement."
