Dinbych gave a spirited performance in an evenly contested match and were in the lead for almost the whole of the second half only to have victory snatched from their grasp in the dying minutes when outside half Tomos Hughes kicked a penalty for Bethesda to win by the narrowest of margins.

Play was even for the opening ten minutes before Bethesda began to edge the territorial play. They opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Dinbych conceded a penalty close to their line which was quickly taken with wing Iestyn Tomlinson going over for a try converted by Tomos Hughes.

Although Bethesda continued to edge both possession and territory Dinbych were always in contention and drew level on the half hour mark when they turned over possession on half way to launch a counter attack with centre Aidyn Jones breaking through from 40 metres for a try converted by outside half Tommy Jones.

Dinbych then took the lead when Tommy Jones kicked a penalty only for Bethesda to reply with a similar score by Tomos Hughes.
Dinbych went into the lead just before the interval from a maul out wide on the Bethesda 22 with the ball reaching wing Wil Jones on the left who cut inside before being stopped near to the Bethesda line. The forwards were quick to win possession from the resulting breakdown for hooker Osian Birt to force his way over for a try near the posts and leaving an easy conversion for Tommy Jones.

Leading by 17 points to 10 at half time Dinbych were reduced to 14 early in the second half when Aidyn Jones was yellow carded. They made light of this by increasing their lead after heavy pressure near the Bethesda line when prop Joe Davies forced his way over for a try converted by Tommy Jones. Bethesda continued to threaten and reduced the deficit when they launched an attack from just inside the Dinbych half with lock Ioan Roberts finishing it off going over for an unconverted try in the right corner.

Dinbych were again depleted with another yellow card with Bethesda drawing closer from Tomos Hughes’ successful penalty kick. Dinbych replied with a penalty by Tommy Jones which took them two scores ahead.

Bethesda were always dangerous on the counter-attack and reduced the deficit once again when centre Steffan Owen finished an attack from over half way with a try converted by Tomos Hughes. When Dinbych conceded a penalty just outside their 22 in the dying minutes Hughes won the game for Bethesda with his final successful kick.
