Chay a past player, went onto to be a member of the Wales under 21’’s, Wales A and Welsh Squads. And spent the majority of his Club career with Ebbw Vale and Pontypool where he was a member of their formidable Pack.

“This is a tremendous signing for Gwernyfed” said Rob Stephens the Club Chairman. As Chay has one of the highest Coaching qualifications in Wales and this will not only help with the development of the players but will inspire future Coaches to take up their awards.

Chay is presently setting up his management and coaching team and further announcements will be made shortly. The new Club Captain is Sam Stephens and he will be supported by the re-elected Athletic Captain – Matt Griffiths and Youth Captain – Aran Nicholls

We wish Chay the very best for the forthcoming season and he mentioned after his appointment – “It will be a great pleasure to help move the Club forward especially in its Fiftieth year and we’re looking for a successful campaign to help entertain the Club’s large numbers of Sponsors and Followers.
