Founded in 1934, the Palmyra Rugby Union Club, or ‘Pally’ as the club is affectionately known, is one of Perth’s premier rugby clubs competing in the RugbyWA Premier Grade competition.
From modest beginnings, Pally is a club steeped in rugby tradition in Western Australia dating back over 80 years. The club is the largest Premier Grade Club competing south of the Swan River at its spiritual home located at Tompkins Park, in Alfred Cove.
The Palmyra club boosts facilities that rival most other rugby clubs anywhere in the world, with modern club rooms and three full size rugby fields which overlook the Swan River.
The Palmyra club is proud of its strength and family culture, offering a professional environment for its players, coaches, support staff, sponsors and supporters. The club is committed to fostering and enhancing its club culture to ensure that it provides a positive experience for all its members and players.
The Palmyra club offers professional coaches, as well the opportunity to play rugby with players that have represented the State of Western Australia, or at NRC and Super Rugby level. At the 2015 RWC Palmyra were pleased to see four current or ex-players playing on the world stage.
Teams
The Palmyra Rugby Club fields teams in all senior men’s grades from Premier Grade through to Fifths. To complete our senior club we also field a Women’s and Colts team.
The Palmyra Juniors have the third largest participation in Western Australia with over three hundred registered junior players. This includes fielding teams from Under Six up to Under Seventeens.
For those players long out of the game and looking for more of a social atmosphere we also have a Golden Oldies team who play a more sedentary game and focus heavily on the social aspects of being a club member.
Training
Training times are Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6.30pm for the Senior Club and 5.00pm onwards for the majority of the Junior Club. However for the younger grades (Under 6-9’s) training is 5.00pm on Thursdays only. The Junior Club will provide you with exact details pertinent to your age group.
For information regarding preseason training please contact us as per the key contacts below for further details and information.
