Parkgate Football Club can confirm that they will play their first friendly of their 2019/20 pre-season preparations against Football League outfit’ Rotherham United on Saturday 6th July.
The Steelmen will take on the Millers on the top pitch at Roundwood as per previous years, in a 13:00 kick off.
Entry prices will be £6 for adults and £4 for concessions. No tickets needed.
Former-player and now Parkgate Manager’ Andy Dawson showed clear excitement upon the confirmation of the fixture and spoken about the close link between the two clubs.
“We are obviously delighted to announce the game against Rotherham United. The link between the clubs has grown stronger each season since Rotherham relocated to Roundwood as their permanent training base and this fixture has been cemented annually as both clubs first game of the new season for a few years now,” he explained.
“I know from my playing days at Parkgate what a great occasion it is for the club and it gives us the chance to showcase our excellent facilities and playing surface to many Rotherham fans who may not have visited Roundwood before. This season we have encouraged Millers fans to come down and support us when Rotherham are not at home which is a great boost to our club and fanbase and we welcome the continued link between both clubs.”
