Peckham travelled to the Efes Stadium in Dartford for a rare outing under the floodlights. Mary Phillip had a 16 man squad for the evenings game, with the only change from Saturday being Joshua Day making his debut in goal. Within three minutes the hosts were ahead after Peckham failed to clear a free kick. Their lead didn’t last long as Mary Phillip’s side equalised in the 6th minute.

Nicky Meta sent in a corner from the near side which was headed only as far as Mohammed Abaker at the back post. The winger quickly adjusted his feet and hit it first time into the roof of the net to open his Peckham account in style.

The first half continued to be a very feisty encounter and both teams had chances to take the lead but none were taken. Joshua Day was the there in the 6th added minute when he denied the hosts with his feet, the last real action of the first half.

The hosts got the second half underway hoping that home crowd would give then the edge. It was however Peckham that took advantage as Evaristo Mendes ran onto a through ball between the hosts defence to open his account. Hitting the ball first time the keeper was nowhere near his strike as it found the bottom right hand corner of the goal to make it 2-1 to Peckham.

The hosts looked rattled and it showed as things began to boil over. Kent United won two free kicks in the space of a minute on the edge of the Peckham area. The first went straight into the Peckham wall, the second over the bar. A warning to Mary Phillip’s players that the game was far from over.

Into added time it went, and there would be a fair bit, but with barely a minute added Peckham put the game out of reach. Substitute Thomas Koroma crossed the ball across the Kent United area to find the unmarked Mohammed Abaker who slotted the ball home for his second of the game making it 3-1 to Peckham.

For the remaining seven added minutes Peckham held on to take all 3 points, making it two wins from two. Peckham now sit in 3rd place on goal difference. Our next game is on Saturday when we welcome Minster to the Menace Arena, please note this is a 2.15pm kick off. Our women's team play Islington Roses in a friendly at around 4.30 immediately after.
