This weekend saw third placed Penarth 2nds hosted Bridgend 2nds at Stanwell. Penarth seeking to keep up their momentum and seek promotion.
In a tight first half which saw Penarth push ahead with a crossed ball from Iwan Meddins for a back post tap in for Elliot Van Steen, the visitors drew level with a quick counter.
Despite a midday start, the over cast weather saw the use of floodlights and with a half time score of 1-1 Penarth looked for an illuminating second half.
Coming out the blocks brightly they were soon ahead. Man of the match, James broad looking light in his feet in the centre.
Throughout a solid second half performance under captain Sam Docherty, Penarth showed great team spirit finishing the game victorious at 7-1 with second half goals from Sam Chick, Dave 'Jasper' Joyce, Dan Shardlow, a brace from James Broad and a first second team goal for Owain Mottram.
Penarth travel to 2nd placed Cardiff and Met 4s on next Saturday @ 10:30 start at Welsh institute of Sport.
