Peterhead Rugby Club are seeking a new Men’s Coach for the coming season.
The Club currently have a Senior Men’s XV and a Senior Women’s XV.
We are looking for someone who can work alongside the Committee and Women’s coach to help
the Club grow, whilst driving and developing our Senior team to take them to the next level. The
Club would like to invite applicants who can build on the success and improvements of the last few
years. The 1st XV this Season finished top of Tennent’s Caledonia North Division 4, while our Ladies

st XV have been improving their match performance in the development leagues and will step up to
a senior league to be advised. The club has several qualified UKCC Level 1 coaches who will be
developing youth rugby in the summer.
The successful applicant will ideally hold a UKCC Level 2 coaching certificate and be looking to
progress to Level 3. This post may suit an experienced coach or a recently retired player looking to
start out coaching and the Club would support them in any qualifications required to ensure their
success in the role.
The Men’s Coach would be responsible for leading the men’s Club coaching, with emphasis on
maximising player potential and developing the Peterhead 1
st XV further. In addition to this, the
Men’s Coach will be responsible for creating a player development plan/structure, ensuring players’
progression. You will be able to demonstrate good communication and motivational skills whilst
providing strong leadership to the 1
st XV.
Peterhead Rugby Club will fully support and encourage you in your coaching development activities.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
• Planning, developing and managing coaching sessions
• Providing challenging, active, appropriate and effective coaching sessions
• Evaluation of sessions and games to feedback into future coaching plans
• Individual player development and player succession planning
• Lead 1
st XV Club Captain in team selections
• Taking the lead role pitch-side at home and away fixtures with the 1
st XV
Training takes place at Lord Catto Park, Peterhead at 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays with games on
Saturdays and the expectation will be for the Head Coach to attend all where possible. The position
is a voluntary role, however, reasonable expenses will be considered by the Committee.
