Pitshanger FC - COVID 19 - June 2020 Update

Archie Mohindra9 Jun 2020 - 12:29

An update from the Chairman regarding the recent FA Grassroots Guidance issued on the 1st of June

Dear Parents / Carers / Guardians

PFC COVID UPDATE

I hope this note finds you and yours as well as can be and most importantly safe and well.

You may have seen that on the 1st of June, the FA published its view on grassroots football which can be found here.

Our current stance as a club on this guidance is that as the health of our players and coaches are of the utmost concern, and since we do not currently believe we have the manpower to effectively monitor the meeting of guidelines or indeed are able to cater for all the teams; we are not encouraging training sessions and we feel any other approach would be risky and premature.

We have our regular monthly Pitshanger managers’ meeting on the 21st of June where we will review the guidance and views from the coaches to ascertain if and how we can meet the guidance in the most rigorous ways. We will then update you accordingly.

Just for clarity, this is not to say that if coaches and parents wish to work together to create informal training sessions this cannot be done, this is just to say that these would be outside of the auspices of Pitshanger Football Club.

May I also take this opportunity to inform you that we are working towards getting ourselves set-up for the 20/21 season with a very close eye on COVID-19 developments, so please do keep an eye out for further communications

I wish you all the very best.

Yours,

Brian Lochead
Chairman
