Meet.... Nick Hancock

Stuart Quarterman23 Jan 2013 - 03:58

I only started to play rugby for the first in my life in the summer of 2010 when I joined Argaum at the ripe young age of 43!

In my whole 2 and a bit seasons of rugby I’ve managed to drink the night away with Welsh international Stephen Jones, beat touring Welsh side Heol-y-Cyw who fielded ex Welsh and Lions International Allan Bateman been coached by ex England international Graham Dawe, played in 2 cup finals at Plymouth Albion RFC’s ground, been Players Player of the year (2011), Player of the Year (2012), and I’m in my second season as Captain of the 1st XV. All in all a pretty packed short career.

The highlight club moment must be winning the Ellis Cup in 2012 playing at Plymouth Albion RFC beating Plymstock Albion Oaks in a closely contested final; I am the first captain in 88 years to receive such honours and this in Plymouth Argaum’s RFC 125th anniversary season.

Some of facts that might be of interest:

Born: Plymouth in 1967

Job: IT Project Manager

Favourite Drink: Guinness or DoomBar

Favourite Food: Chicken

Favourite Team: Argaum & England

Favourite Tour Moment: What goes on tour stays on tour but if anyone asks I had nothing to do with the placing of a rather large inflatable palm tree in the middle of a professional football clubs ground during the tour of 2011 J
