Crunch time approaching

Crunch time approaching

Rearranged games to be played. Your support is required

As we approach the last weeks of the season we still have many games to play with a number of previous games called off and therefore needing rearranging. This coming week for example we have 4 games in 3 days. I know that’s a lot for some and recognise that it maybe too much. However, we have a pg1 and 2 fixture on Saturday and we would therefore appreciate everyone who can play to add their name to the availability in order that we can field the best sides we can. As for the Thursday and Friday fixtures, if you only feel able to make yourself available for 1 but are flexible as to which one then please let me know in order that we can put out full sides for both the MVT and away to Penylan. A few of the ladies have made themselves available for the Thursday fixture so this will help but it’s the Friday one we need more players for.

A couple of weeks ago you may recall that we had to cancel a PG2 fixture. In doing so we had to have further conversations with PG management. It was agreed that we will do everything we can to make sure that all remaining fixtures are fulfilled. If we fail to do so then we can expect to be automatically be relegated and along with that received a fine. Currently, whilst not safe, we sit safely in 3rd. We will do our best to field as many 2nd team players as possible in those remaining fixtures for PG2.

As for PG1 we sit precariously in the relegation zone and it will take some effort to lift us into safety. However, we believe we have the players to do so and despite our defeat against a really good Guest team on Saturday there were signs we could achieve safety. The crunch games will be against Penarth, Windsor and Cardiff Athletic.

The committee thanks you in advance for your ongoing support.
