Beers, Bets & Belly Laughs in a superb night for Porth CC

Porth CC held a festival of racing as part of its fundraising activity in preparation for 2019 season.

The evening was hosted under the watchful eye of Kevin Moon with his two glamorous assistants Viki & Mark. Kevin's colourful commentary really added to the occasion and every race had the pundits out of their seats or slumped head in hands.

The successful owners of the first 5 races were

Rory Jenkins with Blind Horse
Judith Edwards with Broken Sofa
Craig Hill with Dr Cock
Adam Gale with Gully Grabber
Phil Edwards with Black Bess (In a double for the Edwards racing dynasty)

Proceeding were brought to a halt for a sumptuous buffet which was enjoyed by all. And a raffle which added to the total for the evening. In a twist of fate the Chairman's ticket was pulled first name out of the hat and with an appeal lodged by HIS OWN Wife a redraw was undertaken.

Raffle Winners were -

Lewis Davies (Meal for two at the Lion)
Mark (Meal for two at the Lion)
Nathan Davidson aka Gorgeous (5 Drink Tokens)
Dawn (Bottle of Bacardi)
Kevin Moon (Bottle of Prosecco).

Thank you much to the Lion and Ystrad RFC for their donations and Leigh Thomas for selling strips galore! We moved on tipsily to the second half and the following owners picked up the wins.

Lewis Davies with Horseymchorseface (also voted funniest name of the night)
Lloyd Davies with Mr Boombastic
Robert Moss with Blue Pills

The final race was a forcecast race which was won by Robert Nash with his horse I Love my food. Two lucky punters Thomas Peters and Corey Davies picked up the winnings.

We finished the night upstairs throwing shapes in the main lounge to a great band called the Whole Hogg. It was a great evening and raised the club over £500 and we can't thank our hosts Ystrad RFC, all our horse and race sponsors, Kevin Moon and the team and everyone else involved in organising a sensational evening.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next Porth Event which will be around Christmas time.
