Firstly, the event was sold out, which is a huge plus and those present were greeted with a glass of something cold and bubbly, a Champagne tent, an afternoon tea and a raffle.
It was a great opportunity for the fairer sex to enjoy some hospitality whilst the 1st team were playing.
After the game, the Race Night took over and a wonderful evening ensued, expertly ran as ever and everyone enjoyed it.
Overall the day raised just shy of £1,000 to Cancer Research, which for an ad hoc day, dreamt up over a beer in January was a wonderful achievement.
