We are delighted to announce that we have secured the signing of Stevenage legend Ronnie Henry!

The experienced defender has made the most appearances for Boro in their history, playing 502 times for the club.

Having also played for Luton, Henry is a leader and superb addition to Bar’s backline, joining the club after leaving Royston.

In an interview with the club, Henry said: “I’m delighted, I’ve been speaking to Max and Liam for a while, this came about purely from watching my son [Louie Henry] play here on loan.

“When I was here watching him play, it was a nice club, a family club, a club that looks like they’re on the up, so it appealed to me to be honest.”

The signing highlights Bar’s strong relationship with Stevenage, building on loan spells for the likes of David Hicks, Rylee Mitchell and Ronnie’s son, Louie, last season.

For Henry, the goal at the club is to push on to the next level and win as many matches as possible.

“What you can guarantee is one thing, I want to win football games, and if I didn’t I wouldn’t be here right now,” he said.

“I’ve had a few offers, but I said to Max, Potters Bar was the one where I thought I wanted to give it a go and see where we can get to, I’m looking forward to it, because there’s a lot of plans for the future.”
