Match Preview, Jarrovians (A)

Yannick Debil30 Oct 2021 - 10:30

Ready to bounce back!

Fresh from a weekend without rugby, we are back in action this Saturday as we travel to Jarrovians RUFC in Round 6 of the DN3 North campaign.
Last weekend saw the lads team up and renovate the changing rooms and rugby posts which was a huge success but I'm sure we speak for everyone when we say that we are glad rugby is back!

The home side are an ever resilient team who continue to improve despite recent results. The last outing between both sides was in February 2020 which ended in a 12-43 away win for the P&S lads. We are hoping for more of the same this weekend however we know it won't be easy.

P&S name a large squad which unbelievably is still missing a handful of key players.
2 club debuts are set to be made with new signing David Ferguson poised to pull on the P&S jersey for the first time, as well as Rob Hodgson who returns from London for the Halloween weekend. Both Max Condren and James Forrester-Gray will make their competitive league debuts for the club having previously played in pre-season friendlies.

In the forwards, fan favourite Will Foster returns and will likely resume his front row partnership with David Eagleton and Gareth Black in the middle. David Rodgers also returns offering a reliable line out option, something which was missed in our last outing. Carl Ferguson and Ryan Keates are also available to offer plenty of options up front.

The backline remains largely the same, the main absentee being the injured Steven Henderson. The impressive Max Wainwright returns to the squad to make his 2nd league appearance for the club since joining from Malton & Norton RUFC in September. Tomo Clarkson shakes a recent ankle knock to add some speed out wide in the absence of Graham Mark.

Kick off is at 3pm at Luke's Lane Sports Pavillon, NE31 2BB. Spectators are as always, very welcome.

Starting next week, all kick offs will be at 2.15pm due to day light saving.

See you all pitch side!
