Queensbury bounced back after last week’s poor performance with a win at Great Horton. Batting first Queensbury’s top order once again failed to fire plunging them to 65-5. A solid rear-guard action from underrated Josh Dougall and spinner Amjad Ali steadied the ship before cameos from Gurdev Singh and evergreen Nick Richardson saw the visitors to Ewart Street finish on 194-8. In reply Great Horton never really got going and found themselves 43-3 after 22 overs. This then proved too much to accelerate and they were bowled out for 121 in reply.
Blackley proved too strong for Queensbury at Old Guy Road. Batting first Queensbury posted 176-8, skipper Jason Slator the start turn with 88no ably supported by an out of retirement 26 from Russ Lockley, Craig Heppenstall taking 5-46. Blackley had too much in reply although Queensbury will feel the result might have been different had they taken some key catches. Blackley lost 6 wickets as they moved past the QCC total.
