RCFD Tournament Announced

Jason Vaghela10 Mar 2025 - 00:36

RCFD will be hosting our first tournament in August 2025, and our Inclusive Football programme - The Rams - are in the Tesco Blue Coin scheme

The last couple of months have seen a number of matches hampered by Winter weather, however clubs across the county have done an excellent job in ensuring as many games could go ahead. Many of our teams have been competing in their respective Cup competitions, with the U7 Lancasters, U8 Lightnings, U9 Typhoons, U10 Tornadoes and U14 Panthers all still in their league cup, with fixtures upcoming. Our U9 Vulcans are also competing in their Plate competition - good luck to everyone competing over the next few weekends.

Our Inclusive Football programme – The Rams – had restarted after the Christmas break. This fantastic initiative provides a pathway to football for pan-disability children agreed 6-16 with additional needs including SEND, sensory, physical, and learning needs, and neurodiversity. We are delighted to have been selected to participate in the Stronger Community initiative at Tesco, to raise much needed funds for kit and equipment to run our sessions effectively. You can vote for us by using the Blue Coins at Tesco in both Ramsey and Somersham – your support will make a huge difference to us and will be greatly appreciated.

We are always seeking volunteers for to help in our sessions – in order for us to be able to increase the number of children we can accommodate and tackle our waiting list. We’ll provide support to help you and no prior football experience is needed, just a desire to help a great group of children enjoy their football. We are delighted to announce that we will be holding the first official Ramsey Colts club tournament this year. 2025 is a big year for the us as we will be commemorating both 30 years since the club was formed and marking the 20-year anniversary since the sad passing of Tom Jones, after whom the ground is named. Over the weekend of 30th and 31st August, we will be hosting boys’ and girls’ teams from U7 through to U13, from across the county, and anticipate around 1500 visitors to the Colts to mark our anniversaries and grassroots football. We’re looking for sponsorship partners to support our tournament and have several sponsorship packages and options available, in what will be a great opportunity to showcase your business/organisation.
