Striker Ben Taylor sadly suffered a broken leg, both fibula and tibia, after only 8 seconds of the pre-season friendly with Thurlow Nunn side Leiston Reserves on Tuesday evening. The match was subsequently abandon with Ben being taken to hospital. All his team mates stayed by his side to offer comfort and support until the ambulance arrived along with the host club Leiston who were excellent on the night, and today Ben underwent a successful operation at Ipswich hospital.
The 33 year old striker had only just joined Ransomes and had played two 45 minutes in two friendlies, scoring three times. His impact at the club was not just on the pitch but also off it as he had become a well liked and respected member of the squad. Prior to his injury, Ben had been in contact with the manager to say how much he was enjoying his football at Ransomes and his loss will be a huge blow to the team. All at the club send their best wishes for a full and speedy recovery; and also a special mention to the Suffolk football family out there for all their support - you truly are the best.
