An own goal early in the second half and an Ashley Searle brace were enough to give the current TVPL champions an opening day victory against new boys Wokingham & Emmbrook Reserves.
The 'Suma' reserves felt their way into their opening fixture at a higher level of football with the visitors restricting the home side to a couple of half chances.
The Padworth side upped their game in the second half and a spell of early pressure saw a Dan Donegan cross headed home by a recovering W&E defender in the 47th minute.
Three minutes later, Searle headed home from 8 yards from a curling cross from the returning Darrell Fairbrother.
In the 58th minute, W&E forced a corner but within seconds they were 3-0 down when new signing Jordon Farr, cleared to Lorenzo Medford just inside the YMCA half. The experienced forward held off two defenders and laid the ball into Searle, who had helped defend the corner, and the in form striker finished coolly to put the game out of the visitors reach.
Several chances went astray when Medford fluffed his lines when 1 vs 1 with the W&E keeper and Searle had two chances to add to his tally but dragged his shots wide.
