League leaders Boro Rangers were the visitors to Rye Hills today still unbeaten in the league and only having been beaten once this season, by us in the cup a month ago.
The game started at a fast pace with some meaty tackles flying in particularly from the visitors. In the 4th minute Jamie Graham played a neat one - two with Kyran Clark before crossing for KYRAN CLARK to power a header past the Boro keeper.
This stunned the visitors in to action looking for a immediate response and we had to defend stoutly for a while. A free kick from Jamie Graham from 20 yards out struck the Boro bar. Boro Rangers were always a threat and on 20 minutes we gave the ball away and as the ball came in to our box, dangerman Lockwood turned and placed a low shot past Dale.
The game remained tight and even throughout the rest of the first half.

The second hald was equally a tight affair and at times we had to defend well. However we did create some clear cut chances to win it with Ryan Jennings seeing the keeper save with his feet and firing another chance over. Harry Shaw burst through and looked certain to score before a dubious looking challenge brought him down but the ref deemed it was a fair challenge.
A very close game and probably a draw was a fair result however we did create enough good chances to have won it.

A 1 – 1 draw against the top of the league, probably a fair result, with both teams having chances to win the game, I think on reflection we had the better of the chances to gain the 3 points in the 2nd half, Ryan J having a couple of chances, and Harry through 1 on 1 and was, shall we say, ‘tackled’ in the box to prevent him from scoring!!
Kyran gave us the lead in the 1st few minutes, heading down past the Rangers keeper, after a 1-2 with Jamie G, who then put a delicious cross in to Kyran. Jamie also hit the bar shortly after with a superb free kick. (What a trooper!!)
Boro Rangers came at us, and the defence did really well, unfortunately they managed to level before half time. The 1st half was a ‘blood and guts’ ordeal, and the home team gave us good as they got.
As already stated in the 2nd half both teams had chances and we could have, should have inflicted a defeat on the opposition. But it was not to be.
Boro became a bit more physical in the second half (Dale will vouch for that.) and put in some dangerous crosses, but everyone did their bit and defended stoutly, getting their head/bodies in the way when it mattered. Well done to all...
Ryann H. Back from missing for a few weeks, received a needless yellow card, allowing him-self to get wound up by the Rangers right back. Hey-ho!!
