Redditch United are delighted to welcome former Premier League striker, Stefan Moore, to The TRICO Stadium.
The 34-year-old trained with The Reds on Tuesday evening, before putting pen-to-paper on a deal with the club until the end of the 2018/19 season. Moore is available to play against AFC Rushden & Diamonds in the Evo-Stik South – Premier Division Central opening fixture on Saturday (3pm KO).
Moore’s reputation and pedigree in the game is clear, boasting a career that started by scoring on his Premier League debut as an 18-year-old and representing England’s youth teams. He is prolific at non-league level, scoring 68 league goals in 80 appearances for St Neots Town and 24 in 42 for Leamington.
Redditch United Manager, Paul Davis, believes Moore is a “magnificent capture” for the football club and will prove to be a “game-changing” addition to the squad:
“Stefan’s abilities, both on and off the pitch, will be invaluable for us. He is an intelligent frontman; his movement is terrific and boasts a goal record that will worry opposition defenders throughout the league.
“We have a young squad, so bringing in the likes of Stefan and recently-signed Tom Winters means we have injected some experience – vital ahead of what will be a gruelling season ahead.”
Supporters will be able to see Moore and Winters in-action on Saturday, as The Reds head to Northamptonshire to face AFC Rushden & Diamonds. Tickets can be purchased on the day, starting from £10 for adults, £7 for concessions and free for under 8s.
