A hard fought victory featuring a double from Mark Barnes saw Litherland REMYCA development squad defeat Rainhill Town reserves 3-2.
Two first half goals from Barnes, including a penalty, helped the development side to a 3-0 lead at half time.
Barnes' first goal came after just six minutes, and his penalty was from a foul on Liam van Gelder, who had shaken off a hamstring injury early on to play.
The other REMYCA goal was turned in by a Rainhill Town player following a Tom Seddon cross.
After a dominant first half, the tables turned when Rainhill grabbed an early goal to make it 3-1.
Barnes could have had another penalty when he was brought down in the second half but it was not awarded.
Rainhill were awarded a spot kick shortly after, which they converted to make it a nervy end to the game.
Karl Bergqvist struck a great volley only to be denied by a superb one handed save from one time Remyca Goal keeper Lee Cameron.
Although was a nervy at the end, it was quite a comfortable, well deserved victory.
REMYCA will play the winners of next week's semi final Cheshire Line v Ellesmere Port
