REMY defeated Charnock Richard 4-1 thanks to a brilliant second half performance which included three goals.
Charnock Richard took the lead in the 8th minute, with Jordan Darr firing home after a quick ball into the box caught out the Remyca defence.
Charnock Richard dominated the ball in the opening 20 minutes and deserved their slender lead.
Remyca nearly equalised in the 28th minute, but Jordan Monthe’s edge of the box effort sailed just over.
REMY equalised in the 41st minute thanks to a well worked free kick routine which was finished clinically by Harry Foy with a lovely turn and finish. 1-1
The first half ended 1-1. Charnock Richard will have been disappointed after having more the ball throughout the half, however REMY battled well and worked themselves back into the game after a shaky start and that brilliantly worked free kick got exactly what it deserved with an equaliser close to half time.
Remyca began the second half on the front foot, with James Hammill getting several shots of at goal and having most of the ball.
REMY were rewarded for this in the 59th minute, with Jordan Monthe scoring a screamer from the left edge of the box, he took a touch before firing the ball into the top right corner, the keeper had no chance. Amazing goal.
Remyca doubled their lead immediately in the 60th minute thanks to a penalty. Charnock could have no complaints here as it was a definite penalty, Hammill made no mistake as he dispatched the resultant penalty into the bottom corner to make it 3-1.
Charnock nearly worked their way back into the game in the 65th minute after a nice move, however the effort was fired just wide.
The lead became three in the 67th minute, with Monthe putting in a menacing cross which was nodded in by Alessandro Trapasso-Tully from close range.
Charnock nearly grabbed a consolation in injury time but failed to convert hitting the post twice in a bizarre phase of play.
The game finished 4-1 to REMY which was thoroughly deserved after an amazing second half display in which they dictated the play and had most of the chances throughout. As for Charnock Richard, they will be disappointed after a competitive first half, however they simply had no answer for REMY’s rampant second half display and can have no real complaints about the result of the match. Remyca must kick on now and look ahead to a big week, including a huge away trip to Bury.
