Remyca suffered a 4-0 loss to top of the league Ramsbottom United, who were in impressive form throughout the game.
Ramsbottom began well in the opening half an hour, having more of the ball, however, Remyca were defending well and restricted them to sporadic half chances.
The away side took the lead in the 37th minute, they did have the momentum at this point and the goal did feel deserved. Harvey Whyte did very well here, making a great run down the wing before playing a dangerous ball which was unfortunately deflected in by Ishmael Banks, there was nothing he could have done to prevent this.
The visitors doubled their lead just before half time thanks to a lovely finish from Oscar Radcliffe from 12 yards out. Ramsbottom had been the better team up until this point, however this felt like a gut punch for Remyca, conceding so close to half time after defending well for the majority of the half.
The first half ended with Ramsbottom leading 2-0, they would have felt this was deserved after they had much of the ball and did look the more threatening team throughout. However, Remyca will have felt hard done by after conceding in the last seconds of the half, after allowing few clear cut chances throughout the half itself.
The away side nearly started the second half in the perfect way, but Rajwinder Uppal was unable to convert a one-on-one opportunity and dragged wide.
Luke Sephton put the game beyond doubt in the 79th minute for Ramsbottom, grabbing his second goal of the game following a lovely team move which he dispatched clinically.
Remy had a chance soon after to get on the scoresheet, but the resultant shot was placed into the side-netting.
Ramsbottom made their lead four right before the end of the game, Uppal held the ball up well after a cross, before Sephton ran in and secured a hat-trick with another nice finish.
The game ended 4-0, Ramsbottom were the better team and it was clear to see why they are top of the league with the quality of football they were able to produce at times throughout the match.
As for Remyca, they will be ruing that goal they conceded at the end of the first half and the second half very well could very well have played out differently if Remy went into it just one behind. They did defend well at times though and will now look ahead to a huge week, facing Ashton Town away in the cup before a huge league clash at Colne.
