1-0 to Talbot at the break, but Renfrew were competing well against arguably the best team in Junior football. Auchinleck also hit the bar, but Renfrew had chances of their own. Within the first couple of minutes of the second half Talbot doubled their lead, and it looked ominous for Frew. However regular followers have seen loads of character from this squad of players and when Chris Zok hooked one over his shoulder into the net and... Darren Jones fired in superbly from the edge of the box, it looked like the underdogs might just do the unimaginable. Mark Baird had a great save followed by one from his opposite number who denied Zok from 6 yards. Benton curled one that hit the crossbar, but as Renfrew tired, Talbot scored three late goals for a final scoreline that was perhaps unfair given Renfrew's efforts.
