An early kick off (11am) in Renfrew’s first game of the new season. With eight new faces in the starting eleven, it was Renfrew who started well but found themselves 2-0 down before coming back to take a 3-2 lead into the break, courtesy of goals from debutants Lee Cochrane & Scott Morton and one from Chris Zok.
Renfrew used all substitutes during the second half but with little to choose between the sides, it was St Mirren who went on to win the game 4-3, in what was an entertaining and competitive match which included a number of meaty challenges. Several of the new players for Renfrew looked promising.
Next up for Renfrew is West Park Utd Under 21s on Monday night before hosting Beith on Wednesday (7pm) and Hurlford United on Saturday (2pm). Entry charges will be just £2 for the Beith and Hurlford games.
