Marking the Space on Defence and Movement Skills

We start this space covering defence session with two classic school-yard warm up games before then getting your players to be more positive in defence, moving forward to force the fumble!

The aim of this session is to get your team to mark the space (not the players) and attack the ball when they are on defence. By being positive when in defence your players can put pressure on the other team - moving around, in front and behind them to make to force the error or make the interception!

To get your players to pounce like a panther we work on your players' movement and fast hand skills, with a quick review of basic handling before then practising driving onto the ball, reading the game and making the interception. To compound everything we cover in this session we then bring it all together in the final full-court conditioned game.

Don't step back and invite the opposition to attack when your team is on the defensive! Take the game to them with this attacking-minded defending sessio
