Squad of 15 finds goals despite growing injury list

A lot of rain overnight required an early pitch inspection from Graham Begg, happily he pronounced the ground was good to play. The pitch was looking good by 10:30, recently mown and slick, ideal conditions for us.
Our squad swelled to 15 with Kris' late arrival. Fish adjusted his plans and went for 4-4-2 and with 20 minute rotations. We started well, Greenwich a bit slow to close us down allowing us to move the ball freely. It was no surprise then Tom C got the first, a lovely left side footer from a rebound outside the box. Ollie started to complain of a migraine and worryingly couldn't see out of one eye. We stopped the game and he came off to receive treatment. He recovered after a while but couldn't continue in goal and big Rich took over. On the restart Greenwich pressed forward and won a penalty which the scored to make it 1-1. We lost our earlier momentum and the half finished 1-1.
Fish got us ready for the second half with a fresh lineup. This yielded immediate results as Tom C put me through for a simple finish past the keeper. Then a lovely diagonal from Tom to Kris gave him an easy finish. Kris dribble and crossed for Tim to score at the back post. Big Elliot got in on the action with a lovely little dribble and finish. Terry looked set to score but his shot was blocked only for Tim to grab his second off the back post. The goals kept coming and Jamie put a nice toepoke finish past their helpless keeper.
Great football from us and with Greenwich lacking the attacking threat of past games resulted in a big victory. Thanks to Vince for refereeing at short notice, and great to see a big crowd despite the rain and cold, with messrs Bantock, Bosustow, Basham, Claxton and Wintour turning out despite their injuries.
