First Half
Hearts were under pressure in the early stages of the game when the Football College delivered a ball into the box from the right hand side and Liam Pullen did enough to clear for a corner. The opposition were on top and had hearts pinned back during the early exchanges. However, 10 minutes into the game Hearts had woken up and created their first chance of the game as the ball was played over the top to Cameron Thorpe who’s effort went narrowly wide of the right had side post.
Hearts were producing some good passages of play, Nick Ndlela’s tidy footwork on the left created an opportunity for him to deliver, as he did the ball rolled across the 6 yard box just waiting to be tapped, but this chance along with others went begging. The opposition played a ball over the top which beat the hearts defence but Harrison Lloyd was there to sweep up.
Heart broke though the Football College back four but a good save from the opposition’s keeper denied Cameron Thorpe the chance to tap home.
Second Half
Hearts started on the front foot and didn’t take long to get behind the oppositions defence as Nick Ndlela delivered into the box and Bailey Kilroy shot over the bar. The opposition were trying to get under the skin of the away side but hearts maintained their discipline throughout the game.
Hearts management team made a change as Ryan Carroll was withdrawn with 20 minutes to go and Ronando Dias was introduced. This was a change which benefited the side as Hearts gained control and were seeing a lot of possession.
With 5 minutes go with scores all level Hearts introduced Daniel Scholes in place of Liam Longden. They pushed and pushed but it looked like score would remain level . The opposition had a corner and as it was delivered Hearts cleared their lines and created one last opportunity as Tyler Holt managed to retain possession on the edge of the box and Bailey Kilroy fizzed the ball across the box for Cameron Thorpe to smashed home a 90th minute winner.
