Inclusive Group play first ever competitive match

Frazer Richardson5 Nov 2023 - 19:32

'Ability Counts' tournament organised by the Gloucestershire Football Association

Today Sunday 5th November 2023, the Rockleaze Rangers FC Inclusive group played in their first ever competitive matches. The group, run by our vastly experienced coaches Ian Louden and Ade Dale, entered two teams into the 'Ability Counts' tournament organised by the Gloucestershire Football Association and held at the Oxstalls Sports Centre in Gloucester.
We entered one team for players aged between 12 and 16 years old, and the other for players aged 16 and over, and came up against teams from all over the county. It was a fantastic first experience of competitive football for our players and whilst our lack of experience showed, as some teams have been playing tournament football for more than two years, what they lacked in experience they made up for in effort and ability, and certainly did the club proud. The most important outcome of the day was that it enabled our players to experience something new and gave them the chance to bond together as a team, and make some new friends along the way.

The Rockleaze Rangers Inclusive group exists to allow players who struggle to play in a mainstream group the opportunity to play football in a friendly and supportive environment. If you or someone you know may be interested please email inclusive@rockleazerangers.com
