After only her third time in goal, Ziva managed to keep a clean sheet. The girls started strong with a 2-0 victory against Huddersfield. The first goal scored in open play, Mathilda slapped it hard onto the bottom corner. Shortly followed by a short corner that Tilly cleverly passed around a defender to Phoebe, who had the initial shot, which came straight off the keeper’s pads to Mathilda, who scored her second goal.

The girls fought hard in the second game, the ball in the opposition’s half most the game, but unfortunately just couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net. Luckily, when Harrogate got in our half our unstoppable defenders, Abi, Ava, Rosie and Holly quickly won the ball back.

We were kept on the edge of our seats during the game against Leeds Adel, the ball bouncing from one end of the pitch to the other, with the score line remaining 0-0. The girls showed some excellent hockey skills, moving the ball up the pitch (particularly Holly and Rosie, who stepped up into mid for the first time). As the final whistle went, Mathilda scored the winning goal at a short corner.

The final game came, after losing to and drawing with Driffield in previous tournaments, the team set out ready to get a win back. After Tilly and Mathilda played the ball up the pitch, Phoebe fired the ball into the back of the net.
