Welcome to Rugeley RFC. we hope these few notes give you an introduction to the club and (hopefully) tell you what you need to know.

An overview
The club is based at the The Vine inn, Sheep fair Rugeley, The first team Play’s At Hagley Fields next to Rugeley Leisure Centre all other teams primarily play at the Rugeley Open Space Facility At the rear of St Augustine’s church Rugeley. .
By the end of Season 2010/11 we have been running three senior teams and three junior teams.

Brief History
Rugeley Rugby Club was founded in 1947 and has been active from inception.
The clubs roots and original home base was Hagley Hall standing on the hill overlooking Hagley field’s, Rugeley’s first team pitch is still located on Hagley Fields even today, although the hall has long since gone.
Over the years Rugeley has had various home base’s not just in the town but also in Brereton I.E. the Red lion, Baggie’s and later J.T’s although very greatfull to these venue’s but STILL not Rugeley!!!
The Rugby Club Is at present located at the Vine Inn Sheep Fair Rugeley, A very accommodating and welcoming Venue to all that attend.

Since the introduction of League rugby in the late 80’s, the club has been relatively successful, with the 1st team having a turbulent and in 1996 successful path via the Owen Cup to its current position in the league table.

We are proud of our achievements as the clubs able to embrace organised competition for our 2nds, 3rds and junior teams also.
