We are eager for all club members and parents to become actively involved in the club, there are many roles that need to be filled and the more ‘little’ jobs that people do the more team spirit evolves and the more enjoyable it is for everyone.
In an ideal world each team should have some one to take care of the following:
- Team Captain – to look after the moral of the team, liaise with the selection committee/coaches re players performances.
- Team Manager – to ensure players are available for matches/tournaments, to ensure players have transport to matches/tournaments, to liaise with coach and team captain.
- Umpire coordinator – to ensure there is an umpire available for all matches/tournaments for your team. Keep track to the number of matches umpires are umpiring and liaise with club treasurer to ensure umpires are paid.
- Kit coordinator – to look after the balls and bibs for your team, to ensure the balls and bibs are available for matches, to ensure team members have the correct kit, to coordinate kit orders.
- Finance coordinator – to liaise with the Club Treasurer, ensure players have completed their standing order forms, or are paying their fees, kit costs via cheque/cash.
- Website – to develop and update website
- Publicity Officer – to post notices to newspapers re teams activities
So don’t be shy speak to any of the committee members and offer your services, don’t wait to be asked.
